I’m back! I know it has been a while since I
wrote one of my award winning columns. Unfortunately, I had to come back to
pay tribute to an 80’s icon that has died way too early. I’m sure everyone has heard by now the sad news about the passing of John
Ritter. John Ritter shot to fame with the hit sitcom “Three’s Company”. The
show was a extremely popular and ran from 1977 to 1984. Ritter was a master
of physical comedy. He was also a pimp on Three’s Company. He lived with
two girls, Janet and Chrissy and later Janet and Cindy and later Janet and
Terri. He could never seem to get rid of the mullet wearing Janet, however.
Jack was a player. Every week Jack seemed to be dating a new girl. They
would often go down to the coolest place on earth, the Regal Beagle.
However, something would always go wrong and Jack would get dumped at the
end of each episode due to some misunderstanding. He would usually end up
having a bowl of spaghetti dumped on his head or something. I was always
surprised he never did Janet or Chrissy. I’m sure, however, that he tapped
the horny Mrs. Roper at least once. I know I would have.

After “Three’s Company” went off the air,
John Ritter stared in the spin off “Three’s a Crowd”. It was a funny show
but failed to live up to the “Three’s Company” standard. It lasted only one
season.
After that series, John did some movies such as the “five star classics”
“Problem Child” and the “Godfather 2” of comedies, “Problem Child 2”.
After a disappointing 90’s, John was recently back on top. He was the star
of a new hit show “8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter”. I
personally would like to know those rules. This show was set to become a
staple of ABC’s fall programming before John died on September 11, 2003. As
far as we know, no terrorist were involved.
“8 Simple Rules…” will continue without the father who was played by John.
They will write his death into the storyline.
John Ritter died at age 54 of a heart attack.
All jokes aside, I would like to thank John Ritter for the many years of
laughs. I would never miss “Three’s Company” as a kid. Even a few days
before his death I was flipping through the channels and landed on “Three’s
Company”. I ended up watching the whole episode and laughing my ass off. We
know you are looking down at us from the great Regal Beagle in the sky.
